Honolulu Festival, one of the largest cultural exchange events in Hawaii (sponsored by Honolulu Festival Foundation), which will be held for three days starting March 10, 2023, has announced the 420th JTB Travel and Culture Seminar in Hawaii (sponsored by JTB Hawaii, Inc.) as one of the official events of the 27th Honolulu Festival.
The Travel and Culture Seminar series, which started in 1983 to commemorate the 70th anniversary of JTB at the time, marks its 40th year in 2023.
As global interactions and travel resumes, this seminar will be held overseas for the first time.
The seminar will consist of two parts, with the aim of encouraging both travelers and local communities to think about Hawaii’s future from a sustainable perspective. In Part 1 of the seminar, Mr. Kalani Ka‘anā‘anā, Chief Brand Officer of the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA), will voice HTA’s efforts to promote regenerative tourism. In Part 2 of the seminar, a special talk event will be held on the subject of “Sustainable Tourism – What We, the Travelers, Can Do”.
